Bibimbap is considered a traditional Korean dish. Bibimbap is usually served at the table in a deep bowl or stone pot. The dish consists of boiled white rice topped with “namul” vegetable salad, hot pepper paste, raw egg or scrambled eggs, and thinly sliced pieces of meat (usually beef). Often beef is replaced with ground beef. From this, the taste of the dish does not get any worse.

Prep.: 15 minutes Cooking time: 35 minutes Servings: 4 servings
- 4 cups boiled white rice
- ½ tablespoon vegetable oil
- 6 cups fresh spinach leaves
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
- A pinch of salt
- 300 gr ground beef
- 2 tablespoons garlic chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 carrot
- 1 cucumber
- 2 stalks of green onions
- 4 large chicken eggs
- ¼ cup kimchi
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Start by cooking rice. The best varieties are long-grain white rice. Boil it in salted water until fully cooked. You will need 4 cups of boiled rice.
Heat ½ tablespoon vegetable oil in a medium skillet. Saute the spinach leaves for 2-3 minutes. Drizzle wilted spinach with a teaspoon of toasted sesame oil and season with a pinch of salt. Stir and remove from heat.
Return the skillet in which the spinach was fried to the heat. After cooking, there should be enough oil left to fry the minced meat. Fry ground beef in hot oil until browned. Then add 2 tablespoons garlic chili sauce, 1 tablespoon soy sauce and 1 tablespoon brown sugar. Mix thoroughly and simmer for 1-2 minutes. Remove the skillet from the heat.
Now start preparing the vegetables. Wash, peel and grate the carrots on a coarse grater. Wash the cucumber and green onion thoroughly with cold water and cut the cucumber into thin circles, and finely chop the onion.
In the pan in which the minced meat was fried, cook fried eggs from 4 eggs and you can start serving the bibimbap. Take 4 deep bowls and put in each in order a glass of boiled white rice, ¼ fried minced meat, ¼ spinach, grated carrot and fresh chopped cucumber, chopped green onion, a tablespoon of kimchi and a fried chicken egg. Top the bibimbap with toasted sesame seeds and serve.
