Sweet potatoes are similar in appearance and taste to carrots, and when baked, they are very similar to pumpkins. Thin slices of sweet potato baked in maple syrup with aromatic spices and pecans.

Ingredients:
- 4 medium sweet potatoes (about 300g each)
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- ¼ cup chopped pecans
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2-3 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon chopped rosemary leaves
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions:
Step 1:
Wash the sweet potato, dry it and cut into slices as thin as possible. Arrange them vertically and fairly tightly in a round baking dish.
Step 2:
Preheat the oven to 200 C. Put the butter on top of the sweet potato, sprinkle it with chopped onion, chopped pecans and rosemary leaves, salt and pepper. Drizzle the sweet potato with maple syrup, cover with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 200C for 50 minutes until the sweet potato is soft.
Step 3:
Remove the baking dish from the oven, remove the foil, and return the sweet potato to the oven. Bake for another 15-20 minutes until the top is well browned. Serve the finished sweet potato immediately.
